Fountain Valley Corps

The Fountain Valley Corps/Church was started in 1995 by Captains John and Judy Bennet and four soldiers from the Colorado Springs Corps. The congregation grew spiritually and numerically under there leadership.

In 1999 the Fountain Valley Corps welcomed newly commissioned Officers, Captains Roy and Paula Wild. Under the Wild's leadership the Corps moved into its current building at 901 N. Santa Fe. As the congregation grew the meeting area was expanded to meet their needs.

In 2003 Captain's Rio and Rachel Ray came to their first appointment with dreams and new commission in hand. The Ray's served 5 years as the pastors/administrators of The Salvation Army Church and Outreach in Fountain, fulfilling the goal, "Heart to God, hand to man."

In July 2008, Celestine and Shoshannah Ruwethin became the new pastors for the Fountain Valley Salvation Army.  They are the 4th pastors and we welcome them to Colorado and to Fountain Valley.  We are looking forward to seeing how God utilities their talents to bless Fountain Valley!

In January 2009, Sharon McCreery became the new pastor! We welcome her and look forward to her ministry in Fountain Valley. In August, Envoy Sharon was called to take charge of a unit in Denver.

Major's Ray and Ellan Cross were called from retirement to be the Corps Officers/Pastors in Fountain. They got into place just in time to start the Christmas rush with all the activities that Salvation Army Officers do every year. Never say, "I'll never do another Salvation Army Christmas" because when you follow the Lord as a pastor, you never know where your path will lead you, other than knowing with full assurance that God is in control and knows what he is doing!
